Southborough Recreation is promoting class registration for programs starting soon and later this spring. Below are details of the options that cover activities for children through to adults.

18 and over
Thursdays (5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on zoom)

Stretch, de-stress and relax your mind with yoga. This “after work” home course is open to all levels of experience and ability. Yoga sessions include deep work, sequences of postures to build strength and cultivate balance and focus. The class ends with a guided relaxation. Led by seasoned certified instructors Kripalu Malu Doherty and Mary Starr Green.

$80 for a 6 week session. Three sessions are offered starting February 17, March 31 and May 12 (click here to register)

Ice skating lessons
All ages 4+
Wednesday (5:10 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.) Where Saturday (11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.)

Learn to Skate from Center Skating Academy on FacebookSouthborough Recreation partners with Center Skating Academy at the New England Sports Center located at 121 Donald Lynch Blvd, Marlborough, MA 01752. Center Skating Academy will be offering 2 sessions of 8 weeks each to anyone interested in learning to skate or wanting to improve their skating skills.

No rental, skates to own, beginners must wear a helmet.

$210 for 8 classes starting March 2/5 (click here to register)

Special Olympics Basketball – Free program
5-16 years old
Saturday (10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Woodward School)

Children with developmental disabilities are welcome to come and play in this non-competitive environment with an emphasis on learning basketball and making friends. High school coaches, parents and volunteers will work with players on a wide range of basketball skills and play short games. It will be a learning experience with lots of fun!

Spirit in Motion Dance Academy Dance Programs
Options for ages 3 to 12
Saturdays (variable hours at the Spirit in Motion Dance Academy in Marlborough

Southborough Recreation has partnered with Spirit in Motion Dance Academy to offer three dance programs

  • child pop (3-5 years old) – Celebrates a love of individual creativity and encourages our youngest Hip Hop dancers to express themselves through upbeat and upbeat dance moves.
  • Move, Groove & Tumble (3-5 years) – Learn high energy dance moves and acrobatics in the same class!
  • Top 10 trends (8-12 years old) – Focusing on Jazz Funk styles, students will learn shorter combinations in a Tik Tok style format.

$110 for a 4 week session. Three sessions are offered starting April 30, June 4 and July 9 (click here to register)

Archery in the park
9 years and over
Saturdays (3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Neary School grounds)

Enjoy New England’s favorite season outdoors and sign up for archery to experience the excitement of archery and arrow shooting! Our passionate and energetic instructors modernize this timeless Olympic sport and give it a fresh and enthusiastic twist to keep you stimulated and engaged throughout the course. Each week, learn something new while focusing on form more than results. All equipment provided. All skill levels are welcome. Families welcome!

$158 for the session from January 3 to February 7. (Days are on the top right flyer – which also includes classes that are no longer offered)

Women’s Recreational Slo-Pitch Softball League
18 and over
Sundays (7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Melican School, Northborough under the lights)

Join Southborough Recreation as we compete in recreational league matches with Northborough Recreation, Westborough Recreation, Shrewsbury Recreation and Grafton Recreation.

Initial registration apparently completed. They are currently taking interested players on a waiting list. If enough players sign up for the waitlist, they will add an additional team to the league.

The schedule depends on the number of teams lined up between the cities. More information to come closer to Spring 2022.
