Vernon Outdoor Rink Closed for the Season – Vernon Morning Star
Vernon’s outdoor rink closed for the season
Meanwhile, a new Zamboni Bay will be built over the summer
The weather is warming up, and with it comes the end of the skating season at Vernon’s Centennial Outdoor Rink.
Effective Thursday, March 3, the rink outside Priest Valley Arena is now closed for the season.
“The Recreation Department would like to thank everyone who came to spend time on the ice with free activities such as free skating and ice hockey. We look forward to welcoming you back next season,” the city said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a new Zamboni bay will be built over the summer near the players’ entrance to the Priest Valley Arena, where the Zamboni from the outdoor rink will be housed, making access to the rink easier and safer.
Zamboni Bay should be ready for the reopening of the outdoor rink in December 2022, weather permitting.
