Ice skating is one of our favorite winter activities. Whether you can put down a lutz or hold onto handrails all the time, exercising is a great way to burn off energy in the winter. Many places are closed this season due to COVID and some have reservation and mask requirements, so be sure to check before you put on your shoes.

Crystal Springs Resort has just launched an amazing new eco-friendly ice rink called Glice Skating Rink. Glice is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Swiss-designed synthetic ice rinks. Plan to make it a Sunday activity since it is open to the public from Sunday to Thursday. Only guests of the Grand Cascades Lodge & Minerals Hotel can skate on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s $ 25 per person with skate rental included for a 45-minute session. You can purchase hot seasonal drinks during your stay.

If you’re looking for a large indoor rink, American Dream in East Rutherford has a state-of-the-art NHL-sized rink that is open most days from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (and is open later on certain days of the week) . There is also indoor skiing and snowboarding at Big Snow. Both are in huge airspace with strict security measures in place.

While the “Wonderland” portion of the event is on hiatus for the 2020-2021 season, Bergen County is pleased to announce “THE RINK” at Winter Wonderland. Open Now – February 21, 2021. THE RINK has been upgraded with a full regulation size rink. Most dates are currently sold out, but check back for additional dates or times.

Come on Fridays for family home evening, when admission, skate rentals, and 20 arcade tokens cost $ 12 per person. The ice is open to the public every day (except holidays), as are other entertainment at the Bridgewater Sports Arena, like the LaserZone (think the laser tag meets the flag) and the arcade which is packed with over 65 games. .

Whether your kids are throwing triple axles or hanging onto walls for life, they’ve come to the right place. Home to four NHL regulation size rinks, this skating facility is the largest in the tri-state region. Go for a relaxed ride during public hours, or skate to the beat of the DJ tunes during Skate Jam on Friday evenings from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (starting November 29). The figure skating program there has produced several Olympic gold medalists, including Sarah Hughes, Tara Lipinski and Oksana Baiul.

Your first trip to the Jersey Shore Arena will likely be for daily public skating on one of the three NHL regulation size rinks. We’re assuming your second (and third and fourth) trip will be for what this spot does better than any other: DJ Skate. Every Friday and Saturday evening from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., crowds take to the ice for an evening of slide dancing, complete with lights and the sound of a live DJ (admission $ 12, rental $ 4) . Need to give your legs a break? Enter the Hockey Sticks Cafe, which houses a fully stocked arcade, laser tag, and cafe.

Located directly on the Hudson River, this is the perfect vantage point for viewing the great New York City skylines and taking Instagram-worthy photos with the family. Remember, this is an outdoor rink, so bundle up before you go out. Opening for the season on November 16.
