Savannah Civic Center hosting public skating and lessons

CHATHAM COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. WELL FROM THE POPULAR TRADITION OF HOLIDAYS IN THE SAVANNA. WELL, HE’S BACK AFTER TWO YEARS OF ABSENCE. I AM SO HAPPY TO START THIS SATURDAY. YOU CAN STILL ENJOY ICE SKATING AT THE SAVANNAH CIVIC CENTRE. IT HAS NOT BEEN OPEN SINCE 2019. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, BUT NOW WITH THE GHOST PIRATES OF SAVANNAH OPERATING THE CIVIC CENTER ARENA, IT WILL STAY MUCH LONGER THAN THE HOLIDAY SEASON. WE ARE EXCITED, YOU KNOW THE ICE HAS TO BE HERE FOR OUR PRACTICE. SO WHY NOT USE IT AND WE OFFER SKATING TO THE PUBLIC AND I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN DONE IN THE PAST HERE IF IT IS YOU EXPERIENCING PERIODS OF FOUR OR FIVE WEEKS NOW IT WILL GO UP AT LEAST UP AT THE END OF MAY. WOW, YOU HAVE LOTS OF TIME TO GO OUT AND HAVE FUN NOW THE FIRST PUBLIC SKATING SESSION IS THIS SATURDAY FROM 1-3 PM. I WON’T BE THERE BECAUSE I’M NOT A GREAT SKATER. Public skating returns to the Savannah Civic Center this weekend for the first time since the pandemic began.

In addition to hosting select Ghost Pirates practices, the Civic Center will host regular public skating sessions, youth and adult hockey, and ice skating lessons. Public skating is back in the Host City of the South.

Public skating returns to the Savannah Civic Center this weekend for the first time since the pandemic began.

This opportunity is made possible through “Ghost Pirates Ice”, a partnership between the city and the Savannah Ghost Pirates.

In addition to hosting select Ghost Pirates practices, the Civic Center will host regular public skating sessions, youth and adult hockey, and learn-to-skate classes throughout the team’s 2022-23 season.
