Olympic-winning figure skaters come to Penticton for holiday show – Penticton Western News

Some of North America’s brightest stars on the ice are coming to Penticton this holiday season.

The South Okanagan Events Center hosts world champions and Olympic skaters for “Stars on Ice” on December 17.

Kurt Browning, four-time world champion for Canada, will be joined by two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko to headline the special holiday-themed performance.

“Stars on Ice continues to be a pioneer in figure skating by offering fans across North America the rare opportunity to see some of the most accomplished and artistically gifted champions perform together in individual routines. and overall,” a press release read.

The star-studded cast also includes Canadian Jeffrey Buttle, Olympic bronze medalist and two-time United States champion Alissa Czisny.

Kaitlyn Weaver, Andrew Poje, Kirsten Moore-Towers, Michael Marinaro, Nam Nguyen and social media sensation Elladj Baldé will also appear in the South Okanagan in December.

Originating in the United States, the “Stars on Ice” tour was founded in 1986 by Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton. Since then, the show has appeared on venues across Canada, featuring some of the country’s top figure skaters like Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue.

Tickets for the next Penticton show go on sale Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.
