Kirstie Falkous and John Regier and Lime Pictures’ all-new teen ice skating drama ZERO CHILL is coming to Netflix on March 15
Netflix today announced that its new original figure skating and ice hockey drama series, Zero Cold, will be launched on March 15, 2021.
The live-action series for kids and family follows 15-year-old figure skater Kayla as her life is turned upside down from Canada to the UK, when her twin brother Mac earns a place at a prestigious academy in ice Hockey. Distraught by her parents’ decision to put her brother’s ambitions before her own, Kayla must find her place on the ice and emerge from the shadow of her superstar twin.

Zero Cold is the latest Netflix project from Lime Pictures, the team behind the double Emmy award free rein.
The 10 x 30 minute series is created by Kirstie Falkous and John Regier, and is produced by Angelo Abela and Tim Compton.
The young and talented writing room was led by chief writer Adam Usden (Ackley Bridge).

About the manufacturing
Set in the fictional HammarstrÃ¶m Ice Hockey Academy, the show features an all-skating cast, with a fluid camera style making audiences feel like they’re actually on the ice with the characters. The casting took place across Europe and Canada, with English speaking actors hailing from Sweden, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, France, Canada and the UK, giving the show a unique feeling of diversity. The shooting took place in and around Sheffield, one of the great centers of ice skating in the UK. The actors were trained on the ice for several months before filming began, along with some of the best coaches in the country.
